In May each year, Palestinians remember the Nakba - or "catastrophe" - which began in May 1948 with the forced expulsion of over 700,000 Palestinians from their homes and villages.

In modern times, ethnic cleansing by Israel continues - in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon.
